I came across this saying a little while ago and thought it was one I had to share. I grew up with the phrase “practise makes perfect” and while the sentiment was to encourage me to practise and not to give up, it can also leave an opening for procrastination. It gives me an excuse to not share that photo, or that blog post or play that song because it’s not “perfect”.
For someone who likes to have everything just right, everything thing in its place and matching – it can be difficult to let go and just let it be as it is. While it can be discouraging when I don’t get things right the first time, this phase “practise make progress” is a good reminder to have another go, keep trying, keep practising and then I will make progress.
Be encouraged to keep trying and look back from time to time to see how far you have progressed.
